LITTLE ROCK —The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded more than $6.5 million in grants to support facility upgrades and expansions at 11 Arkansas airports, the six members of Arkansas’ congressional delegation announced Wednesday.

LITTLE ROCK —The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded more than $6.5 million in grants to support facility upgrades and expansions at 11 Arkansas airports, the six members of Arkansas’ congressional delegation announced Wednesday.


The airports and grant amounts are:


—Sharp County Regional Airport in Ash Flat, $440,325 to rehabilitate the apron and runway.


—Saline County Regional Airport in Benton, $528,183 to expand the apron.


—Clarendon Municipal Airport, $206,764 to extend the taxiway.


—Clinton Municipal Airport, $194,776 to install taxiway lighting.


—Corning Municipal Airport, $244,332 to rehabilitate the apron.


—De Witt Municipal Airport, $335,250 to expand and rehabilitate the apron.


—Newport Municipal Airport, $557,072 to install airfield guidance signs and navigational aid systems and to rehabilitate the runway.


—Russellville Regional Airport, $124,184 to acquire land for approaches.


—Searcy Municipal Airport, $150,00 to rehabilitate the runway.


—Texarkana Regional-Webb Field, $3,403,151 to rehabilitate the runway.


—Waldron Municipal Airport, $318,812 to rehabilitate the runway.
