LITTLE ROCK — The number of homes sold in Arkansas in April was up 6.4 percent compared to a year earlier, and the average price of homes sold was up 12.5 percent, the Arkansas Realtors Association said Friday.

LITTLE ROCK — The number of homes sold in Arkansas in April was up 6.4 percent compared to a year earlier, and the average price of homes sold was up 12.5 percent, the Arkansas Realtors Association said Friday.


The association said 2,579 homes sold in the 43-county area it surveyed in April, up from 2,425 in April 2014. The average price of a home sold last April was $169,253, up from $150,426 in April of last year.


Benton County had the most homes sold in April with 460, followed by Pulaski County with 396, Washington County with 234, Saline County with 168 and Faulkner County with 133. Sebastian County had 116 homes sold and Jefferson County had 26.


Average home prices were highest in April in Benton County at $244,722, followed by Washington County at $185,846, Faulkner County at $177,348, Pulaski County at $174,874 and Saline County at $173,371.


The average home price was $164,673 in Sebastian County and $88,961 in Jefferson County.
