LITTLE ROCK — Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley will make two public appearances in Little Rock on Friday, the Arkansas Democratic Black Caucus said Thursday.

O’Malley’s campaign said previously he would attend a private fundraiser in Little Rock on Friday. On Thursday the Black Caucus said O’Malley also plans to participate Friday in a "get out the vote" rally, set for 3 p.m. at Philander Smith College, and the caucus’ annual Christmas Gala, set for 8 p.m. in the Lafayette Building in downtown Little Rock.

O’Malley served as the mayor of Baltimore for seven years and as governor of Maryland for eight years. This will be his first visit to Arkansas as a presidential candidate.

His last public appearance in Arkansas was in August 2o14, when he made an appearance in support of Democrat Tyler Pearson’s unsuccessful campaign for the state Senate.
