LITTLE ROCK — A state police investigation into a highway crash in Woodruff County that injured seven cyclists will be turned over to a prosecutor when completed, the agency said Wednesday.

State police said its investigation into the crash involving a motor vehicle and bicycles likely would continue into next week.

Authorities said that about 4:35 p.m. Tuesday a vehicle driven by Teagan R. Martin, 21, of Newport, struck a group of 13 bicyclists from the rear. The collision occurred along Arkansas 17, about two miles north of McCrory.

The cyclists, most of them teenagers, all from out-of-state, were traveling cross-country under the supervision of Summer Camps of Williamstown, Mass. The tour had begun in Charleston, S.C., and was destined for Santa Monica, Calif.

State police said state troopers had questioned Martin in their investigation and said the results of the probe would be turned over to the Woodruff County prosecutor for consideration of any charges against Martin.
