FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas forward Bobby Portis is one of 25 players on the midseason list for the 2015 Wooden Award.


Portis is in consideration for the award, which is presented annually to the nation’s top player after averaging 18 points and 8 rebounds though 16 games. He was named CBS national player of the week and Southeastern Conference player of the week after averaging 26.5 points and 8.0 rebounds against Georgia and Vanderbilt.


Portis had 17 points and 11 rebounds in Arkansas’ 74-69 loss at Tennessee on Tuesday night. He is one of two SEC players on the Wooden Award midseason list, joining Kentucky forward Willie Cauley-Stein.


The midseason list will be trimmed to 20 candidates next month.


Arkansas (13-3, 2-1 in SEC) plays Ole Miss (10-5, 1-1) in Bud Walton Arena on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
